Our promise to every
contributor
- Your name and profile on everything we publish
- You keep the copyright to your work
- A real editor reviews every submission
- A short note from us if we cannot publish it
01
What we publish
We publish honest, first-hand travel photos and stories from India and its neighbours. The best work feels like it could only have been made by someone who was really there.
Travel Viewpoint is not commercial. We do not publish paid promotions, sponsored stays or content written to sell something.
We love
- Your own photos and your own experiences
- Places off the usual tourist trail
- People, food, festivals and everyday life, shown with respect
- Useful details: how you got there, when you went, what it cost
- Stories that match this month’s destination
We don’t accept
- Photos or text taken from someone else
- Promotions for hotels, tours or brands, or affiliate links
- AI-generated images, or text written mostly by AI
- Content that is hateful, unsafe or encourages breaking rules
- Stories already published on another website

Do
- Tag the exact place, such as Lake Pichola, Udaipur
- Keep edits natural: light, colour and straightening are fine
- Ask before you photograph people up close, and add a note that you did
- Tell us the camera or phone you used, if you like
Don’t
- Add watermarks, borders, logos or text
- Use heavy filters, sky replacement or added objects
- Upload screenshots or photos of printed photos
- Photograph children without a parent’s permission
03
Story guidelines
Write the way you would tell a friend about the trip, then add the details a reader needs to go there. Stories between 800 and 2,000 words work best, with at least four of your own photos.
A great story has
- A clear title that names the place
- An opening that puts the reader right there
- Practical details: getting there, best time to go, where you stayed
- Your own photos, with captions
- A short bio of 2 or 3 lines about you
Please avoid
- Lists copied from other websites
- Prices or rules you have not checked recently
- Naming and criticising local people or small businesses
- Links to booking sites, your shop or your YouTube channel inside the story
04
Credit and copyright
Your work stays yours. When you submit, you give Travel Viewpoint permission to publish it with your name, and to share it on our website, newsletter and social media.
- Your name, always. Every photo and story shows your name and links to your profile, here and on social media.
- You keep the copyright. You can still use, sell or publish your photos anywhere you like.
- We never sell your work or give it to advertisers.
- You can ask us to remove it at any time from your profile.
Every submission form has a checkbox confirming that the work is your own and that you agree to publish it with credit. The full terms are in the Contributor Agreement.
05
Respect people and places
Travel is a privilege. The places and people in your work should be shown the way they would want to be seen.
Always
- Follow the rules at temples, monasteries, parks and protected sites
- Keep a safe distance from wildlife, and follow your guide
- Respect signs that ban photography or drones
- Describe local cultures with care and accuracy
Never
- Bait, chase or disturb animals for a photo
- Go off trail in national parks or restricted areas
- Share private details or exact locations of nests and dens
- Encourage risky behaviour such as selfies on cliff edges
