When to go
When to visit Ladakh
The best time to visit Ladakh is June to September. May, October are also good. Try to avoid November to April (most roads closed, extreme cold). Rest for at least two days in Leh before going higher. The Manali and Srinagar highways are usually open from about May or June to October or November; flights run all year. The Chadar trek runs in January and February.
- Best for high Himalayan treks
- Good for winter and lower treks
- Monsoon: most high treks closed
